In our present era there are thousands or even millions of websites. These websites can have different platforms and different functionalities and they also differ in terms of visual appearance. Some of the websites uses simple designs and layouts but some uses sophisticated ones. There are basic principles of design and layout that we need to learn in order for us to have basic but firm understanding of what to do when we started to create our own web designs. 1. Balance - balance is concerned with the visual weight and this can be in terms of color, objects, characters or spaces we see on the page. 2. Emphasis - it is an area that may seem to have different style, font color or size, shape or texture catching the attention of viewers.
